ETCS

This system is not yet implemented in the game.

In Poland, only part of the CMK section (Grodzisk Mazowiecki - Idzikowice) and the section Włoszczowa Północ - Zawiercie are operated in Full Control - L2 mode.

The Active vigilance (CA) is an electronic device which is part of the Automatic Train Protection (ABP) system. Its purpose is to ensure railway safety by checking the driver's vigilance every 60 seconds if the train speed is 10% higher than the maximum speed of the train. Driver vigilance is checked at equal intervals, first the "CA" lamp flashes, after about 3s the buzzer will sound and after another 2s the vehicle will apply emergency braking if the driver is not vigilant.

Mirel

This safety system does not work on the Polish railway.

SHP (Samoczynne hamowanie pociągu)

SHP.png

SHP is split into two parts - Train and Track.

Track part

Track part of SHP

The trackside consists of a resistor, also called an electromagnet, which is located at a distance of 200m from warning shields, crossing warning shields, entrance semaphores, SBL semaphores. Within stations and other traffic stations, the electromagnet is placed at the height of the semaphores.

Train part

Train part of SHP
On a train locomotive or electric unit, the train part (track sensor) is located at the second wheelset except on EP/EU series locomotives, while EP/EU locomotives have this sensor located between the axles.

In locomotives or electric units, the ELM (SHP) sensor in new constructions is located on the first carriage relative to the direction of travel.

The sensors in the pull section are covered with magnets that emit radio waves to activate the SHP, which controls the CA (Czuwak Aktywny). Thanks to a generator located in the locomotive, which produces a 1000Hz signal to the sensor, the two parts are consistent with each other. When you drive over the SHP resonator, the system will be triggered into action. A light in the driver's cab will illuminate, indicating that a button must be pressed to cancel the SHP operation, a moment later an audible signal will sound. If the driver does not react within 5 seconds, the system will automatically initiate the emergency braking of the train.

SIFA

This is a German security system, which is used in Poland instead of CA (Czuwak aktiwny). SIFA is used by Eurosprinter, Pendolino, Traxx and Vectron units/trains.

Created with Ondrej P. (Game nickname Dragon).
