Dąbrowa Górnicza

Dąbrowa Górnicza is today an intermediate station with a greatly reduced track layout. It used to have about 10 sidings, which were located on both sides of the main tracks. It was also a junction station: the line leading to today's Dąbrowa Górnicza Huta Katowice station started here, and another line to Sosnowiec Zagórze station. Today, the former exists only in a small length along the "Wiedenka" line, and the latter has been completely abolished. Also, only two through tracks (main main tracks) and two auxiliary tracks with entrance only from the Ząbkowice side remain in the station. These tracks, together with the sidings, serve two sidings. The train traffic is controlled by the "DG" signal, which is equipped with a relay-computer device with light signalling.

In May 2013, a new, containerised signal was put into operation near the pedestrian crossing. The crossing itself was secured with horns. Some of the switches on the north head of the switch were also removed, allowing the speed in the station to be increased to 100 km/h. Previously it was limited to 40 km/h due to the existing unprotected pedestrian crossing. The speed was also limited by the geometry of the switch head on the Ząbkowice side.
In 2015, the island platform was repaired and a new shelter for passengers was placed there.[1]
