Sosnowiec Glówny

Železniční stanice Sosnowiec Główny – jedna z nejdůležitějších ve Slezském vojvodství, která se nachází v centru města, na ulici Maja 3. Podle klasifikace PKP má stanice nejvyšší kategorii Premium. Vznikla 24. srpna 1859 sloučením Varšavsko-vídeňské dráhy a Hornoslezské dráhy jako hraniční stanice, která postupem času dala vzniknout městu Sosnowiec.
Stanice Sosnowiec Główny je díky své poloze na jedné z nejfrekventovanějších železničních tratí v Polsku důležitým bodem místní železniční komunikace, díky čemuž zde zastavují osobní vlaky provozované společností Koleje Śląskie. Zajišťující spojení v oblasti Śląského vojvodství.
V roce 2021 stanice obsloužila přibližně 2700 cestujících denně
Stanice spadá pod oddělení železničních tratí PKP Polskie Linie Kolejowe v Sosnowieci.[1]

Tracks in the station

The main transport tracks are formed by the 1st and 2nd station tracks between which lies the island platform number 2. All trains arriving and departing from the neighbouring Katowice Zawodzie and Będzin stations arrive on these tracks. Tracks 1 and 2 are secured by a standard automatic block.
For the routing of trains in the Będzin <-> Sosnowiec Południowy section, the line track number 1P is used, which is controlled by a semi-automatic block defined by the departure and entry signals of the SG and SPł stations. It is therefore a single space section.

For the routing of trains in the Katowice Zawodzie <-> Sosnowiec Południowy section, branch track 2P is used, which is controlled by a semi-automatic block defined by the departure and entry signals of stations SG and SPł. It is therefore, as in the case of track 1P, a single space section. The Tesko Steel siding also enters the station.
