Dąbrowa Górnicza Ząbkowice
Dąbrowa Górnicza Ząbkowice is a junction station, where a four-track route from the direction of Łaz, consisting of lines No. 1 (passenger) and 160 and 186 (freight), branches off in the direction of Dąbrowa Górnicza and Sosnowiec Maczek (line No. 133). The station is divided into track group A, located in front of the platforms on the Laz side, which consists of 9 main tracks. A short Eurozone siding branches off from these tracks, as well as a northbound hoist track and loading tracks 29-33, leading to the ramp and warehouse. The movement of trains on the group and the turnout head from the Laz side is carried out by the "DZA" signal box, which has relay equipment with traffic lights.
In 2013-2014, part of the station underwent a revitalization of the track system, but mainly covering the tracks of lines 133, 180 and 186. The surface of part of the main tracks was replaced, as well as the catenary network (new prototype catenary gates were built in). SRK equipment also underwent a slight modification, but practically only in terms of external equipment.[1]
Tracks in the station
Behind the platforms there is a divergence in the direction of Będzin Łagisza, Dąbrowa Górnicza and Dąbrowa Górnicza Huta Katowice. Between lines 183 and 1, a siding of PKP Energetyka and the exploitation section was located, while between 1 and 133 - the "DZB" control station, which handles train traffic in this part of the station. This switchyard is equipped with relay equipment, although several turnouts have manual drive.
Behind the branch in the course of line No. 133 is group B - "maczkowska", which consists of 10 main tracks. These tracks serve several sidings branching off in the area, the most important of which are the sidings of the Katowice Steelworks, Mostostal, PPRH Bobrek or Dom Plus. To the east of the group's tracks is also a small loading yard, whose tracks are used by the operations section and FHU Medex. The movement of trains on the main main tracks and additional odd-numbered tracks is carried out by the "DZB" control station, while part of the turnouts in the even-numbered tracks are operated by the "DZB2" control station, which has key and centralized mechanical equipment.[1]
Traffic on the track
- Platform 1, from which trains once departed in the direction of Lagisza (track No. 5) and a track for possible overtaking of passenger trains by fast trains (No. 3);
- Platform 2, serving most of the regional traffic on the Zawiercie - Katowice section;
- Platform 3, located along line No. 133, on which 1 pair of passenger trains currently runs; track No. 6 is also used for possible overtaking of passenger trains by express trains.
