Jozefinow is a branch station, allowing freight trains to exit towards the Warsaw Central Station (Warszawa Główna Towarowa) and further, towards Prague, giving rise to the northern bypass of Warsaw. The post has only two branch turnouts on the line, with no switch crossing between the tracks of the main line. This branch is made without a crossover, with the bypass tracks passing under the viaduct on which the track from Italy is located. The post was thoroughly modernized in 2014 - the track surface of Line 1 was replaced (without the turnouts - these were replaced earlier). The viaduct over line No. 19 was also replaced - the new construction allowed the pavement to be laid on ballast, without the use of bridge girders. The track layout remained unchanged, while new traffic control equipment was built in a container, opposite the existing signal box.
