Opoczno Południe is a small transit station located on the 92nd kilometer of the CMK. It is built according to the standard for small through stations - it has 2 main and 2 sidings. In addition to the main tracks, the station also had a track base with 5 main tracks, but these have been demolished. Train traffic in the station is controlled by the "OP" interlocking, which until 2019 had an IZH-111 type relay device with light signalling. On the Olszamowice side there is also a switching station, which is usually occupied in case of a failure of the SBL equipment.[1]

Tracks in the station
In 2014, a single-sided platform was built in the station on the 4th track and a culvert in the middle of the station track was reconstructed. The protective rib was also extended - track 4a was created, protected by a derailment. Minor reconstruction of the SRK equipment was also carried out, allowing entrances and exits to and from tracks 3 and 4 at speeds of up to 60 km/h. However, the remains of the sidings and the ruins of the maintenance depot were removed.[1]
