Staszic is a junction station, located in southern Katowice. The single-track line from Ligota meets the double-track track from Muchowiec here (although formally they are two, single-track lines) and continues into the single-track line to Tychy. A track also branches off here, connecting the post with the Staszic mine. The track layout of the post allows driving towards the Mine only from Muchowiec - the line from Ligota passes "down" and turns south. The post was equipped with two protective ribs. Train traffic is conducted by the "Ssc" signal box, which has relay equipment with traffic lights. Until a few years ago, the post did not run traffic on the line from Ochojec to Kostuchna - as there were two single-track routes in operation: Staszic - Katowice Murcki and Ochojec - Katowice Murcki. The turnout connecting the two lines was inserted in 2004.[https://semaforek.kolej.org.pl/wiki/index.php?title=Staszic <nowiki>[1]</nowiki>] | |||

It is only a switching point. There are no platforms.
THE STATION IS CURRENTLY NOT OPERABLE.
The turnout connecting the two lines was inserted in 2004.[1]
